The Triumphal Entry and Those 70 Weeks of Daniel

The first 69 weeks (of years) began "From the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem" (Mar. 14, 445 B.C., Neh. 2: 1 - 8) and ended at the triumphal entry of the Messiah into Jerusalem (April 6, 32 A.D., Luke 19: 28 - 40, Zech. 9: 9), according to Dr. Alva J. McClain in his book called DANIEL'S PROPHECY OF THE 70 WEEKS. (Read also Dan. 9: 24 - 27.).

From the time that Messiah, that's Jesus, rode into Jerusalem on the colt (foal) of a donkey, which is close to the time that He died on the cross, until the Rapture, there is a period (span) of time that lies between the 69th week and the 70th week. During this time there is a period which is called the "Age of Grace" or "The Church Age." This will continue until the Rapture.

After the Age of Grace there will be 7 years of tribulation known as The Tribulation Period or The 70th Week of Daniel. It is during this 7 year period that "the 70th week" is fulfilled (takes place). (See Dan. 9: 24, 27. Read also Rev. 6 through 13: 18, and 14: 6 - 11.).

These 70 weeks are divided into three parts (periods). First, we have 7 weeks (49 years), then, secondly, there are 62 weeks (434 years), and thirdly, 1 week. The Bible says, in Daniel 9: 25, three score and two. Taking the 7 weeks and then adding the 62 weeks (7 + 62) together equals 69 weeks (483 years) and then add the last week (7 years). All parts (periods) equal 70 weeks or 490 years (7 + 62 = 69 + 1 = 70 weeks, 70 x 7 = 490 years).

7 x 7 = 49 years
62 x 7 = 434 years
1 x 7 = 7 years
69 x 7 = 483 years
70 x 7 = 490 years

These comments and figures came from Dr. Alva J. McClain's book.

"In order to find the end of the Sixty-nine Weeks, we must first reduce them to days. Since we have 69 weeks of seven years each, and each year (of the Hebrew calendar) has 360 days, the equation is as follows: 69 x 7 x 360 = 173,880 days. Beginning with March 14, 445 B.C., this number of days brings us to April 6, 32 A.D."

"April 6, 32 AD., therefore, is fixed definitely as the end of the era of the first 69 Weeks;..." So, 69 weeks (weeks of years) x 7 days x 360 days, as calculated in the Hebrew calendar, equals 173,880 days.

There will be 30 days per month during the tribulation period, the 70th week of Daniel, as it was at the time of the flood of Noah. See Genesis 7: 11, 24, 8: 3 - 4. The seventeenth day of the second month to the seventeenth day of the seventh month, using 30 days per month, equals 150 days. It is just like the Bible tells it happened. In reference to the tribulation period the Bible tells us that there are 1260 days. (1260 days counting 30 days per month = 42 months or 3½ years, 42 months x 30 days = 1260 days).
