A Partial Chronology/Sequence of the Book of Revelation

Revelation chapters 4 and 5 talk about the four and twenty elders. Those chapters tell us what those elders say and do. Chapter 5 also tells us about the little book/scroll that is sealed with 7 seals. These seals will begin to be opened one at a time in chapter 6, verse 1. Therefore, it is my belief that chapters 4, 5, and 6 are in chronological order. Revelation 4: 1 (the Rapture), and 4: 4 (the crowns of rewards), cannot be placed within Revelation 19: 11 where the Second Coming (Advent) of Christ takes place. The sequence of prophecy will not allow it.

You cannot place the Rapture, the Resurrection, or the Judgment Seat of Christ (the giving of rewards) with Revelation 19: 11, nor with Matthew 24: 31, 25: 31 - 32 or Zechariah 14: 4 and 5. The Church, the four and twenty elders, are wearing their crowns in Revelation 4: 4. They received them in Revelation chapter 4 (1 - 4) shortly after the Rapture (Rev. 4: 1).

The Church is the Bride of Christ. She is wedded to Christ and will eat at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in Revelation 19: 7 - 9. Do remember, the wedding and marriage supper take place in Heaven before Jesus returns to earth (Rev. 19: 11). So the Church has to go to Heaven in the Rapture first. Then, 7 years later, we will return with Jesus.

If you place any portion of Revelation chapters 4 and 5 with the Second Advent you will have to put Revelation chapter 6 there as well due to the chronology of chapters 4 - 6. None of those chapters and verses can be moved out of their places.

Note this well:

  1. Crowns are given out at the Judgment Seat of Christ. The four and twenty elders (Christians) are wearing the crowns (Rev. 4: 4) that they received at the above judgment, which will happen shortly after the Rapture (Rev. 4: 1). The elders, who represent the Bride of Christ (Christians), will all get their crowns at the same time. They are casting/laying their crowns at Jesus' feet in Revelation 4: 10.
  2. The four and twenty elders (the Bride of Christ) will return to earth with Jesus (Rev. 19: 11, 14), in the Second Advent (Second Coming/Revelation). When the Rapture happens the Christians do not return to earth with Jesus. They, instead, are gathered together unto Him in the sky, and then they go to Heaven (II Thes. 2: 1 - 2). Then, 7 years later, they will return with Jesus (Zech. 14: 4 - 5).
  3. Only after the four and twenty elders (the Bride of Christ) have been wedded/married to the Lord (Rev. 19: 4, 7 - 9) in Heaven can they return to earth with their groom, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Note the sequence: We go to Heaven with Jesus when the Rapture happens (Rev. 4: 1). We get our crowns of rewards in Heaven at the Judgment Seat of Christ between Revelation 4: 1 and 4: 4. We will lay our crowns at His feet (Rev. 4: 10 - 11). (The 7 seals, the 7 trumpets, and the 7 vial judgments will take place on earth.). We will also be married in Heaven to Christ (Rev. 19: 7 - 9). We will eat in Heaven at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. We will come back to earth with Him when the Second Coming (Advent) of Christ takes place (Rev. 19: 11). If we're coming back with Jesus we have to go to Heaven first.
