Who Are the Elect of the Tribulation Period?

"The elect" is one of the reasons why some individuals will not accept the pre-tribulation view. Now in Matthew 24: 22 the elect is not the Church, the elect of the Church Age. The Church is in Heaven at this point. The Christians went to Heaven in the Rapture, in Revelation chapter 4 verse 1, and sang in chapter 5 about how they were redeemed by Jesus' blood out of every nation of the world. They are called the four and twenty elders, and some times elders, in the book of Revelation. Who are these elect then in Matthew 24: 22? I believe they are those Jews who flee from the Antichrist when his image is set up in the newly built temple in Jerusalem. These Jews include the 144,000 males, and their wives or wives to be, and also include the remnant of Revelation 12: 17. There will be many Gentiles also. Many of them will have believed in Jesus as their Savior and were saved during the first half of the tribulation period. At this point, in the middle of the tribulation period, and on into the beginning of the last half of this period, they will have to flee for their lives (Matt. 24: 16 - 22, Rev. 12). Both groups, the Jews and the Gentiles, now called the elect will flee from the Antichrist during the 5th and 6th seals. The saved Jews, who are not part of the 144,000, and also the saved Gentiles will have to be careful during all the remaining days until the Lord Jesus returns in the Revelation/Second Coming. They will also have to be aware of false christs, etc... during the last half of the 70th week of Daniel (Matt. 24: 24).

Now the tribulation saints (Rev. 20: 4) who died during the 5th and 6th seals (Rev. 6: 9 - 11, 12 - 16) and go to heaven in Revelation 7: 9 - 17 will also be the elect. But they are not the elect of Matthew 24: 31, 25: 31 - 34. For those Jews and Gentiles are the saints (the elect) who did not die during the tribulation period. They will be alive (having earthly bodies) when Christ returns to earth (Rev. 19: 11), and they are the sheep who entered the kingdom in Matthew 25: 34. Whereas this group of tribulation saints (Rev. 6: 9 - 11, 7: 9 - 17, 20: 4), now in their glorified bodies, who died during those two seals mentioned above, will return to earth with Jesus in the Revelation/Second Coming before Matthew 24: 31, 25: 31 - 32 takes place.

Now in Romans 8: 33, Colossians 3: 12, II Timothy 2: 10, Titus 1: 1, Luke 18: 7, I Peter 1: 2, 2: 6, and Ephesians 1: 4 - 6, 11 we also read of the elect. These verses, however, definitely refer to the Church which is raptured in Revelation 4: 1. They are the elect who accepted Christ as Savior before the Rapture. They go to Heaven at the moment of the Rapture. One could assume that the elect in Matthew, chapter 24, are the same elect. However, this is not the case because the Church (the elect above) is in Heaven by this time. The Rapture takes place between verses 8 and 9 in Matthew 24. Matthew 24: 31, 25: 31 would include the elect of Matthew 24: 22 (the saved Jews of the tribulation period), and Matthew 24: 24 (the saved Jews and Gentiles) who were not killed by the Devil or the Antichrist. All of the Jews which are alive and have not received the mark, etc..., will be saved at the time of His coming. (Read Rev. 19: 11, 1: 7, Rom. 9: 27, 11: 26 - 27, Zech. 12: 10.).
