Who Will Reign With Christ?

The Christians who were saved from the day of Pentecost to the Rapture will live and reign with Christ for 1000 years (Rev. 5: 10). That is the first group.

Now, let's take a look at another group of people who will live and reign with Christ.

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years." (Rev. 20: 4)

Now the question may arise, if this verse is referring to the same group who were killed in chapter 6 of Revelation, and are also mentioned in Revelation 15: 1 - 4, why is John talking about them here? The answer is: John is going to tell us that this is where the thousand year reign of Christ fits into the sequence of prophecy. So the Holy Spirit inspired John to write and tell how these martyrs will reign with Christ for one thousand years. That is the reason John mentions the martyrs (of Rev. 6: 9 - 11) in Revelation 20: 4, to show us that they will reign with Christ for 1000 years during Jesus' millennial kingdom. This is the second group.
